Get started in three steps

  1. Add friend

    Tap “Add friend” or search for @eztrans in LINE to add EzTrans (譯起聊) as a friend.

  2. Invite it to your group

    In the group menu, tap “Invite” and choose EzTrans (譯起聊). Other members don’t need to add it as a friend or install anything.

  3. Pick a language

    Once EzTrans joins the group, it posts a language menu. Tap the language you want, and messages in Chinese and that language are translated back and forth automatically.

  • Knows which way to translate

    Once a language is set, Chinese is translated into that language and that language into Chinese. You don’t have to pick a direction each time.

  • See who said what

    Each translation is posted as a reply that quotes the sender and the original message, so nothing gets mixed up, even in a busy group.

  • Switch languages with one tap

    Type /lang to open the language menu and tap to switch, or type /en or /ko directly. When you switch, EzTrans confirms the change in both Chinese and the new language.

  • No setup for members

    Just one person needs to invite EzTrans, and everyone’s messages in the group get translated.

  • Add a background note for more natural translations

    Type /background followed by a background note: who speaks which language, how you know each other, and the tone you want. EzTrans uses it to choose the right forms of address and tone. For example, whether a Thai sentence should end with ครับ or ค่ะ depends on whether the speaker is a man or a woman.

    Type /background by itself to see the current background note, or /background clear to delete it. Each group can have its own note, up to 300 characters.

    /background This is a factory work group. Our supervisor, Mr. Wang (male), speaks Chinese, and the rest of us are coworkers from Thailand. Keep the tone polite but not too formal.

How to activate the monthly plan

  1. Type /pay in the group

    Type it in the group you want to activate, and EzTrans replies with the plan details and a payment link.

  2. Open the payment link

    The confirmation page shows the group you’re activating, the plan, the validity period, and the amount.

  3. Choose how to pay

    Pay by credit card or ATM transfer to a virtual account. Once payment is complete, the group is activated automatically.

FAQ

Does everyone in the group need to add EzTrans as a friend?

No. As long as one member invites EzTrans to the group, everyone’s messages in the group get translated. No one else needs to install or set up anything.

How does the free quota work?

Each group gets 20 free translations a day. In addition, each person can use up to 20 free translations a day in total, across all groups and private chats. Counts reset every day at midnight Taiwan time (UTC+8). If you run out and want to keep translating, you can activate the monthly plan.

How do I activate the monthly plan?

In the group you want to activate, type /pay and tap the payment link EzTrans sends back. Check the group and the amount, then pay by credit card or ATM transfer to a virtual account. The group is activated automatically once payment is complete. Each payment activates only that one group.

Will I be charged automatically when the plan expires?

No. Each payment covers 30 days, and EzTrans will remind you in the group to renew before it expires. You can also request a refund within 7 days of payment. See the Terms of Service for details.

Can I switch to a different language?

Yes. Type /lang in the group at any time to open the language menu, then tap a language to switch to it. You can also type a command directly. For example, /en switches to translating between Chinese and English.

How accurate are the translations?

For everyday conversation, translations usually get the meaning across naturally. Names, technical terms, slang, and abbreviations can sometimes come out a little off, so every translation includes the original message for easy comparison.

How do I stop the translations?

Remove EzTrans from the group and it stops translating. If you want to use it again later, just invite it back.
